See if you qualify
For owners planning their exit

Your business know-how is worth real money now

AI data companies are paying some established businesses to license years of everyday records, like SOPs, email and support tickets, to train their systems. We help owners see if they may qualify and, if you choose, introduce you to a buyer, at no cost to you.

How it works

Three simple steps

1

Tell us about your business

Two minutes. Size, industry and how long you've used your current software.

2

We review the fit

We'll call you, explain what buyers look for, and tell you plainly if it's not a fit.

3

Meet the buyer, you decide

If there's interest, you deal with the buyer directly. Review the terms with your attorney. No obligation.

What's involved

What data is involved, and what stays out

What buyers typically license

  • Standard operating procedures and training docs
  • Internal email and Slack or Teams chats
  • CRM history and sales workflows
  • Support and service tickets
  • Dispatch, scheduling and project records

What stays out

  • Customer personal information (names, SSNs, account numbers)
  • Your clients' confidential information
  • Tax returns and tax information
  • Anything you choose not to share

Buyers tend to look for US companies with roughly 40 to 200 employees that have used the same software for several years. Strong fits include freight and 3PL, insurance agencies, accounting firms, property management, manufacturing and home services.

Your data stays under your control

De-identification. Buyers remove names, contact details and identifying information before records are used.

You approve everything. Nothing is shared until you have reviewed and signed a written agreement.

We never hold your data. Founders Dividend never collects, stores or transfers your company's records.

Example ranges

What buyers have said they pay

$100K – $2M+

Based on ranges AI data companies have published for their own licensing programs, payments are typically $100K to $2M+ depending on size and data. Actual offers depend on your company size, years of records and data type, and some businesses will not receive an offer. We do not guarantee any payment.

This window won't last. Deal terms in this market are changing quickly, and as more companies sign up, offers will likely get less lucrative. If you're curious, it costs nothing to find out where you stand today.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this a sale of my company?

No. You keep your business. You would license a copy of selected, de-identified records for AI training under a written agreement with the buyer.

Who pays Founders Dividend?

The data buyer pays us a referral fee if a deal closes. You pay nothing, ever. That fee does not come out of your payment.

Who are the buyers?

AI data companies that run publicly announced programs to license real business data. We are an independent referrer. We are not a partner, agent or representative of any buyer, and we will tell you exactly who is making any offer before you talk to them.

How much will I get?

We can't promise any amount. Buyers have publicly described payments typically ranging from $100K to $2M+ depending on company size, how many years of records you have, and what kind of data it is. Some businesses won't qualify at all.

Do you ever see my data?

No. We never collect, store or transfer your data. If you go forward, the buyer works with you directly under their own contract and security process.

What about my customers' private information?

Customer personal information, your clients' confidential information and tax records stay out. Buyers remove names and identifying details, and you approve what is shared before anything leaves your hands.

How long does it take?

Typically 60 to 90 days from first call to a signed agreement, depending on the buyer and how quickly records can be gathered.

Should I talk to my attorney?

Yes. We encourage every owner to have their own attorney and accountant review any agreement before signing.
